Developing Services for Pipeline and Oil & Gas Storage Operators:
Ground & structure motion monitoring - Pipeline route planning

NEWS: PIPEMON will be represented at the IPC (International Pipeline Conference) (www.internationalpipelineconference.com) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada between 25 and 29 September 2006. Come along and find out about the latest findings of PIPEMON at the Conference!

PIPEMON is a three-year integrated remote sensing and pipeline industry project, which is funded by the European Space Agency as part of its Earth Observation Market Development (EOMD) programme. The project is primed by Nigel Press Associates Ltd (NPA) in collaboration with six partners.

The objective of PIPEMON is to market integrated services for pipeline operators and oil & gas storage operators. The services are based on satellite Earth Observation (EO) data and are designed to help efficiency and cost saving by complementing existing technologies for

  • Pipeline-related ground and structure motion monitoring
  • Pipeline route planning

The multi-skilled team of seven partners have built strong working relationships over a number of years within previous projects (PRESENSE and ESA EOMD). It has particular experience in the EO industry (NPA, Definiens and Tele-Rilevamento Europa), pipeline consultancy industry (EBA Engineering Consultants, Advantica, Intergraph). In addition, the British Geological Survey are acting as science reviewer.
